Ahmadinejad: World Problems Solved Only Through Dialogue

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a meeting with Singapore’s Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong here in Tehran on Monday said that paying attention to human values, dialogue and interaction set the only way to resolve world problems. A report released by the Presidential Press Office said that during the meeting, Ahmadinejad also said that the world is destined to experience threats and power rivalries until it will be dominated by affinity and justice-based human relations.

“Instead of animosity, Iran is prepared to expand ties with different world countries based on mutual progress in order to consolidate friendship among the world nations,” he mentioned.

Reiterating that attention to human values, dialogue and interaction set the only ways to resolve the current world problems, the president underlined, “Unlike certain bullying powers in the West who interpret all affairs in connection with power and wealth equations, the Islamic Republic of Iran views the world issues based on respect for the rights of all human beings and opposition to hegemony.”

He further reminded that Iran attaches special significance to the expansion of ties with different countries, including those in the Far East, and added, “Iran demands global peace and friendship and progress of all countries based on national interests, and, thus, welcomes development of ties with Singapore in the different sectors and is prepared to transfer its experiences to that country.”

For his part, Singapore’s Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong noted Iran’s significant position in the world, and said that his country attaches much value to the expansion of ties with the Middle-Eastern states, particularly Iran.

He also stressed his country’s efforts to promote ties with the Islamic Republic.

The Singaporean official further pointed out that despite the negative propaganda launched by the western media, Iran enjoys a convenient position for development, and mentioned that his visit to Iran is aimed at exploring avenues for the expansion of bilateral ties and finding ways to use Iran’s experiences in the different areas.
