Lebanon Seeking Shiite-Sunnite Solidarity

A02476762.jpgWe are seeking to establish unity among all Shiite and Sunni tribes, the official in charge of the Lebanese Islamic Amal Front said. Speaking to reporters after a meeting with Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Secretary Ali Larijani here in Tehran on Wednesday, Fathi Yakon expressed pleasure in his desirable talks with Larijani, and said that during the meeting, the two sides have discussed Lebanon’s domestic problems and issues pertaining to Iraq and Palestine.

He said, “We are striving to create unity and solidarity among all Shiite and Sunni tribes.”

“We are endeavoring to tell actors on this scene that they should not go under foreign influence if they intend to play an influential role in connection with Lebanon’s domestic problems,” he continued.
