Germany’s ambassador to Tehran appreciated the Islamic Republic, on behalf of his country’s officials, for setting the German citizen, Donald Kline, free. The envoy made the remarks in a meeting with the Chairman of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaoddin Boroujerdi here in Tehran on Wednesday, a statement released by the Information and Press Department of the Islamic Consultative Assembly said.
During the meeting, Boroujerdi noted the positive results and fruitful achievements of his recent visit to Germany and his constructive talks with high-ranking German officials as well as directors of some scientific and political bodies and foundations of that country.
He also appreciated the warm welcome that was extended to him by the German officials, particularly his German counterpart.
The prominent MP further pointed to the undeniable, significant and desirable effects of contacts and close relations between the two countries’ officials in deepening the knowledge of either side about the other one, increasing mutual understanding and forming constructive interactions.
Boroujerdi voiced full preparedness of the Iranian parliament to further consolidate and deepen bilateral ties at different levels.
For his part, German ambassador to Tehran said Berlin assesses as positive and successful the recent visit to his country by the chairman of the Iranian parliament’s national security and foreign policy commission and other Islamic Republic officials.
He said such exchanges play an effective role in brining the two sides’ stances closer to one another while they bear strategic importance for developing and consolidating bilateral relations.
The envoy further voiced deep pleasure in the release of the German citizen Donald Kline, and conveyed appreciations of his country’s senior officials, particularly Chancellor Angela Merkel to the Iranian government, parliament and judiciary.
