Russian and Georgian officials to discuss easing of bilateral relations

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin and the special representative of the Georgian Prime Minister for Relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze will discuss ways of healing Russian-Georgian relations at the next meeting in Prague on September 19.

‘The informal dialogue which started in December 2012 on ways of improving Russian-Georgian relations in the spheres where improvement in trade, transport, cultural and humanitarian sphere, science and healthcare is possible without diplomatic relations, will be continued during this meeting’, according to the website of Russia’s Foreign Ministry.

According to the report, it is also planned to have an exchange of views on the prospects of Russian-Georgian relations after the presidential election in Georgia scheduled for October 27.

The first meeting between the official representatives of Russia and Georgia within the settlement of bilateral relations was held in Geneva on December 14.
