Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed the need for the compilation of an Islamic unity charter, saying that the vigilance of the world of Islam is a great threat to arrogant powers and system of the world hegemony. Addressing Islamic Republic officials, ambassadors of foreign countries to Iran and a number of attendants in the international Islamic Unity Conference here in Tehran on Friday, Ayatollah Khamenei extended his congratulations to the Iranian nation and world Muslims on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), and voiced pleasure in the revival of Islamic identity and vigilance.
He noted the Muslim world’s preparedness to move towards further glory, independence and scientific progress, and underlined the necessity of Islamic unity and solidarity as the most important need of the world of Islam and the actual remedy to all problems of the Muslim population.
The Supreme Leader further reiterated the need for the Muslim scholars and intellectuals to compile the charter of the Islamic unity as something dearly needed throughout Muslim history.
Pointing to the Muslims’ recent move for reviving Islamic identity and the growing vigilance in the Muslim world, he warned, “Arrogant powers have, in the meantime, made their front against the world of Islam more organized, more serious and more comprehensive than before due to the fact that the vigilance of the Muslim world is a great threat to the arrogant powers and the system of the world hegemony.”
Meantime, Ayatollah Khamenei reminded, “But another reality in the contemporary world is that despite all the materialistic calculations and media propaganda, the seemingly powerful front of the arrogant powers has been defeated by the front of the giant Islamic movement.”
He further pointed to the failed plots of the front of the arrogant powers, led by the US, in the Middle-East region, specially in Palestine, Iraq and Lebanon as clear instances of the said reality.
The Leader viewed Islamic unity and solidarity as among the vital requirements for the continuation of the overwhelming movement of the Islamic Ummah (nation) towards victory, and reminded that the front of the arrogant powers seeks to foment ethnic and religious conflicts among Muslims.
He called on the entire Islamic Ummah to consolidate unity and solidarity, saying that’s why the current Iranian year has been named as ‘The Year of National Unity and Islamic Solidarity’.
