Pakistan, Turkey to increase parliamentary cooperation

Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Cemil ?i?ek during a meeting on Thursday agreed to further enhance interaction between the parliamentarians of the two brotherly countries and to share legislation experience.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 10th session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states (PUIC) that concluded in Istanbul, said a message received here.
Cemil ?i?ek (pronounced as Jamil Chichek) appreciated his Pakistani counterpart for active participation of the Pakistani parliamentary delegation at the PUIC.
Referring to the deeply-rooted historical long term relationship between Turkey and Pakistan, the Turkish Speaker said it provided a firm base for long-lasting strategic partnership between the two countries.
He noted with satisfaction that the two states were maintaining close partnership at the highest level. He extended an invitation to his Pakistani counterpart for a bilateral visit to Turkey.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq referred to the formation of Pak-Turk friendship group in the National Assembly of Pakistan, which he said was one of the largest in the Pakistani Parliament.
While referring to the forthcoming Pakistan visit of the Turkish Prime Minister, he suggested including parliamentarians of the Pakistan-Turkey Friendship Group in the Turkish Parliament in the entourage as well.
