Convergence of views between Algeria, Tunisia on the resolution of the Libyan crisis

ALGIERS The head of Government of Tunisia Habib Essid said Monday in Algiers, the convergence of views between his country and Algeria regarding the need to urgently achieve “a political solution” to the Libyan crisis.
In a statement to the press after an audience granted to him by the President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Essid said “the convergence of views between the two countries regarding the need to urgently reach a political settlement to the crisis in Libya. “
On this occasion, the Head of Government of Tunisia reaffirmed “support” of the two countries in United Nations efforts regarding the situation in Libya in the hope that these efforts will be successful.
He stressed the need to “prepare for the step that follows the agreement,” stressing that the two sides agreed to “play a fundamental role in the current and future stages.”
Essid said the willingness of both countries to start “very soon” initiatives to “accelerate political solution to the Libyan crisis.”
Essid also said that the meeting served to discuss with President Bouteflika “Current political issues at bilateral, Maghreb and international level.”
