Algerian, Malian FMs discuss cooperation

Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra on Monday held phone talks with Malian Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and International Cooperation Abdoulaye Diop, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The Malian minister informed Lamamra the positive interactions between the signatories of the Peace and Reconciliation Agreement in Mali over the past days,” said the statement.
Diop also informed Lamamra of the “outcomes of the series of consultations held between 19 and 26 February 2016, as well as the decisions of the meeting held Saturday between Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita with the representatives of the CMA (the Coordination of Azawad Movements and the platform,” added the statement.
During this meeting, it has been agreed to hold a forum for peace and reconciliation in Mali from 27 to 30 March in Kidal, take the necessary measures for the consolidation of stability and strengthening peace, and establish interim authorities and a common security mechanism in Northern Mali.
Lamamra hailed the “positive climate” characterizing the inter-Malian dialogue and the “promising momentum” resulting from the recent consultation between the different Malian stakeholders.
He reiterated to his Malian counterpart Algeria’s continued readiness to “support the process of the national reconciliation and to continue its action as the mediation leader for the monitoring of the implementation of the provisions of Algiers agreement,” concluded the statement.
