Tunisia makes its expertise and potential available to Libya

Tunisian Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui said Tunisia makes its expertise and potential available to Libya to help the presidential council of the government of national unity establish its institutions and play its role in the war on terror.
Closing the 8th Ministerial Meeting of Libya Neighbour Countries (March 21-22 in Tunis), Jhinaoui told a joint news conference with Head of the UN Support Mission in Libya Martin Kobler Tunisia is ready to provide necessary support to Libya.
Tunisia has incessantly urged Libyan stakeholders to work out their differences peacefully, the FM highlighted.
Installing a national unity government in Tripoli sends a reassuring message to the Libyan people and neighbour countries as well as to the international community. This would mean the establishment of a central government that is able to address challenges and which will be the legitimate representative of Libyans.
Neighbour countries consider that Libya’s stability and unity are an essential precondition for regional stability and there is need to involve them in all the stages of the political settlement of the Libyan crisis, the Foreign Minister underlined.
For his part, Chair of the Presidential Council Fayez El Sarraj spokes about the multifaceted ordeal of the Libyan people and the proliferation of terrorism.
“We need to take swift action to address challenges,” he said. He also urged Libyans to support the government.
Kobler, for his part, stressed the need to push for a political solution in Libya which faces the threat of division and said the UN will continue to support the Libyan government.
