Tunisia, US discuss security challenges

The United States pledges to continue helping Tunisia in its democratic transition in order to meet the economic and security challenges it faces, said Wednesday U.S. ambassador to Tunisia Daniel Rubinstein.
Received by Minister of Foreign Affairs Khémaies Jhinaoui, the American diplomat said that continuing the bilateral cooperation, is one of the constants of the policy of the United States.
For his part, Minister of Foreign Affairs said he was confident in the pursuit of the Tunisian-American cooperation and the support of the United States to Tunisia.
“The Tunisian-American relations are based on mutual respect and interests,” he said, quoted in a statement from the Foreign department.
According to the same source, the meeting focused on the Tunisian-American relations and means to develop them after the inauguration of Donald Trump as U.S. President.
