Libya, Turkey agree to boost security cooperation

The UN-proposed government’s Interior Ministry said Thursday that it had agreed with Turkish authorities on resuming the security training programs signed with Turkey in the vicinity of the last five years, according the ministry’s Facebook page.
The agreement was pronounced in a meeting Thursday morning between the Interior Minister, Aref Al-Khoja, and the Turkish Ambassador to Libya, Ahmet Doğan, at the ministry’s headquarters in Tripoli.
“Al-Khoja discussed with the Turkish ambassador how to boost the security in Libya as well as the mutual cooperation on all levels, especially security.” The ministry’s media office said, adding that training will resume after stopping over the unrest that was sweeping through the country.
“Turkey is considering lifting visa requirements on Libyans in the upcoming months.” Doğan told Al-Khoja, according to the media office.
