The tripartite meeting of Libya’s neighbouring countries (Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt) will be held on November 15 in Cairo, Egypt, Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui said in a statement after his meeting with President Beji Caid Essebsi on Tuesday at Carthage Palace.
The meeting was an opportunity to review developments in the situation in Libya in anticipation of this meeting, said a statement from the Presidency of the Republic.
Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel recently said that the tripartite meeting of Libya’s neighbouring countries will be held in Cairo during the month of November to strengthen efforts to bring security and stability to Libya.
Algiers, last June, hosted the meeting of foreign ministers of Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria which focused on the developments in the Libyan crisis.
The final statement of the meeting insisted on “a political solution as a unique way out of the Libyan crisis”.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister gave the President of the Republic an overview of the results of his official visits to India and Japan and the promising prospects for cooperation with these two countries.
