Belgium to Construct 10,000 Housing Units in Iran

A01853724.jpgBelgium’s West Alpine Company is due to build an annual number of 10,000 residential units in Iran, managing director of the company’s agency in Iran said on Sunday. Vahik Shahinian told reporters that units will be quake-resistant and could be installed in all geographies, even the mountainous and rather inaccessible areas.

“The units have a 50-year-long guarantee,” he said, “and could be raised to four or five stories.”

Shahinian also said that a new technology would be utilized in the construction of the building, which saves 30 to 50 percent of the material and accelerates the construction process 6 times more than other methods.

According to him, the residential units will also be produced 30% cheaper through using the Belgian technology and method.
