India Supports Iran-IAEA Talks

A03322168.jpgIndian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee voiced his country’s support for the recent agreement and talks held between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).“India supports settlement of conflicts among countries through negotiations and we believe war and belligerency is not a correct way of solving differences,” Mukherjee said in response to a question by Bangkok Post about New Delhi’s stance on a possible attack by the United States on Iran.

The Indian foreign minister, who spoke during an official one-day visit to Thailand, also voiced pleasure in the positive trend of interactions between Iran and the UN nuclear watchdog agency, and reiterated, “We support the talks between Iran and the Agency to remove the ambiguities and achieve a peaceful solution to Iran’s nuclear issue.”

The senior Indian diplomat also underlined the inalienable right of all countries to make a peaceful use of the nuclear energy.
