Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow viewed the final statement of the second Caspian Sea summit in Tehran as a proper step towards resolving the issues remaining among the littoral states. Speaking to reporters during a joint press conference with his Iranian, Kazakh, Azeri and Russian counterparts here in Tehran on Tuesday, Berdimuhamedow said that all the five heads of state have voiced common views and adopted similar stances on significant issues.
Elsewhere, he described as much significant endorsement of a trilateral agreement on the construction of a railroad which will link Iran to Kazakhstan via Turkmenistan, saying that the project would open new economic gates and facilitate Central Asia’s access to the Persian Gulf.
To end his remarks, the Turkmen president also appreciated his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for the excellent arrangement and organization of the summit.
