Quake Hits Southern Iran

An earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale jolted the town of Mohr in Iran’s southern province of Fars on Wednesday. The seismological base of Fars province affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 00:48:48 hours local time (21:18:48 GMT).

The epicenter of the quake was located in an area measuring 53 degrees in longitude and 27.6 degrees in latitude.

No reports have yet been received on the possible number of casualties or damage to properties by the quake.

The quake was reported to be the second in Mohr in the last three days.
