Italy will host the conference of representatives of the EU member-sates’ and countries outside the union June 19 at the initiative of the European People’s Party. Georgian Deputy Prime Minister Giorgi Baramidze will participate at the event.

Today, the European Union and Georgia signed a visa facilitation agreement with Georgia, opening the way for easier travel and people-to-people contact across Europe. The signature of the readmission agreement negotiated between the European Union and Georgia in parallel will be organised very soon.

On 14 June, the European Union reiterated its readiness to facilitate people-to-people contacts with the citizens of the South Caucasus countries, namely Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, through visa facilitation and at the later stage visa-free agreements.
