The Prosecutor’s Office filed new charges Wednesday (May 25th) against Veselin Vlahovic, known as the “Monster of Grbavica”, for war crimes against Bosniak and Croat civilians committed during the 1992-1995 conflict.

Ratko Mladic’s arrest is good news for the region, said Croatian President Ivo Josipovic. “I, as well as the whole international community, expect a fair trial,” he said.

Ratko Mladic’s arrest is fulfillment of Serbia’s international duties under the Dayton Agreement, President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik. “The institutions of Republika Srpska have never defended someone who committed war crimes,” said Dodik.
