Iraq: Security troops destroy Islamic State rest houses in Diyala

Two Islamic State rest houses were destroyed in Hamreen Mountains area, Diyala government, local police source announced on Thursday. “A joint force of Diyala police and al-Hashd al-Ashaeri (Tribal Mobilization Forces) carried out an operation in Al Safra village in Hamreen Mountains,” the Diyala Police Command said in a statement.

Egypt police kills 3 jihadists behind anti-Copt attacks

Egypt’s interior ministry said on Thursday its forces had killed three jihadists suspected of involvement in deadly attacks against the country’s Coptic Christian minority. An officer also died in a shootout in the southern province of Qena on Tuesday, security officials said.
