President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here Monday said that any measure taken by the US in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Palestine will be detrimental to the country itself.
He made the remark while speaking at the gathering of people at Takhti Stadium in the provincial town of Varamin, to the southeast of capital city of Tehran.
“The British were familiar with the regional equation some 50 years ago, but today they have no idea about the region.
“Though today these powers can hardly hold their grip over the region, they continue their challenge against the Iranian nation,” he added.
Addressing the world powers, the president recommended them to stop their current approach, given that they will get nowhere by pursuing such policies to avoid being isolated.
The president said that the majority of world nations are in favor of Iran’s nuclear activities.
Elsewhere in his speech, he said that Iran can provide other countries with cheap nuclear fuel, namely 50 percent lower than its world price.
“Given the achievements of Iranian youth in the nuclear sector, Iran will manage to make more progress in this regard,” said the president.
Underlining that Iranians dismiss the West’s discriminatory policy, based on which some countries access nuclear technology and power plants and others are deprived of them, he said, “The enemies are afraid of Iran’s progress. Therefore, every time a leap is witnessed in the field, they attempt to seek some pretext and disrupt the process.”
Ahmadinejad said that the US and Britain have confronted the Iranian nation for the past 50 years attempting to prevent their progress in many domains, including nationalization of oil.
“Today, they attempt to prevent our access to peaceful nuclear technology. However, they should be aware that our nation deserves to use nuclear energy, given that there are uranium mines in the country which entitles Iran to its refinement and enrichment as well as establishment of nuclear power plants.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the president criticized the approach of some big powers to other nations based on their own benefits and their negligence of religious instructions.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here Monday underlined that the Iranian nation is entitled to access the full capacity of nuclear fuel cycle and that the Iranians will not let anyone deprive them of such a right.
Turning to Iranians as a peaceful nation, the chief executive said that the Iranian people will not give up their right to access nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
Addressing Western governments, he said, “Our nation is seeking its right and according to laws and regulations you were bound to help Iran to access nuclear technology for peaceful use. However, given that you did not take any measure to this end, Iran managed to achieve such a goal by relying on Iranian youth.”
Ahmadinejad underlined that no one has the right to prevent the world nations’ access to nuclear energy for any reason.
He pointed to Europe’s draft resolution on sanctions against Iran and raised the question whether the European states, which have already experienced such sanctions in the past, have ever contributed to development of Iran’s nuclear facilities.
The president said that the majority of world governments and nations support Iran’s nuclear activities.
