Iran-UAE Ties not Affected by World Powers

A02574261.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- The United Arab Emirates’ Foreign Minister Abdallah bin Zayid al-Nuhayyan said his country is proud of having strong and extensive ties with Iran, stressing that the conspiracies practiced by trans-regional powers would leave no impact on the expansion of the two countries’ relations.According to a statement released by the Presidential Press Office, al-Nuhayyan made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here on Tuesday.

During the meeting, President Ahmadinejad viewed the two states’ relations as significant and strategic, and called for the growth of Iran-UAE ties in all areas, specially politics and culture, reminding that the two countries’ relations in the different spheres should come to harmony with their excellent economic ties.

He said that Iran perceives no impediment in the way of the expansion of relations with the UAE in different areas, including joint ventures, and further expressed the hope that the two states’ ties and cooperation would develop on a daily basis.

Also noting the two countries’ shared interests and common view points about regional and international issues, the president pointed out that progress, security and authority of each one of the Persian Gulf littoral state serves the interests of all the other regional countries, and reminded that increased cooperation and promotion of an atmosphere of friendship and brotherhood among Muslim nations, specially the Persian Gulf littoral states, serves the progress and stability of the regional countries and the Islamic Ummah (nation).

He also mentioned that some opportunist states, specially the United States and Britain, are seeking to sow seeds of discord among the Muslim nations of the region in a bid to attain their interests and goals, and called on the Islamic countries to show vigilance and unity to defuse enemies’ plots in the region and pave the way for the progress and promotion of the regional Muslim nations.

Ahmadinejad also referred to the existing potentials of Iran and the United Arab Emirates for developing their ties in all areas, and expressed the hope that the two nations’ relations would further develop during the term of office of Iran’s new ambassador to the UAE, Hamid Reza Asefi, whom the president described as an experienced, skillful and faithful diplomat.

Asefi used to serve as Iran’s deputy foreign minister for parliamentary and consulate affairs while he has also been Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman for 8 years.

For his part, The United Arab Emirates’ Foreign Minister Abdallah bin Zayid al-Nuhayyan described his country as a close friend and brother of Iran, and underscored that the plots hatched and practiced by certain trans-regional powers would leave no impacts on the expansion of the two countries’ relations.

He further called for the development and expansion of consolidated and all-out ties with Iran.

Stating that Abu Dhabi is proud of its strong and extensive relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, the top diplomat noted the two states’ abundant potentials for cooperation, and voiced the profound enthusiasm of his country’s traders, businessmen and companies for making huge investments in Iran.

He also pointed out that economic activists and traders of his country are waiting for the proper grounds to be prepared for their hectic presence in Iran and that they would utilize all their potentials and capabilities to help to the materialization of the said goal.

Al-Nuhayyan also extended an invitation by his president Khalifa bin Zayid al-Nuhayyan to Ahmadinejad in order to pay an official visit to that country.
