Iran Dismisses US Allegations about Military Intervention in Afghanistan

A01918645.jpgIranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Mohammad Ali Hossein rejected the recent claim by the US officials about dispatch of Iranian military equipment to Afghanistan, describing it as a frequently used and redundant scenario lacking credit. According to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry’s Information and Press Bureau, Hosseini said such allegations result from the weakness and inability of the US officials in dealing with the issues of the region, and stressed, “Insistence on illogical approaches cannot hide the increasing failures of the US administration in Afghanistan.”

He further emphasized on Iran’s consolidated and growing relations with the friendly government of Afghanistan based on good neighborly relations and age-old mutual interests, and underscored, “Iran’s constructive role in support of the establishment of security, stability and welfare of the Afghan people is a transparent and clear issue permanently confirmed by the appreciative people and officials of that country.”
