Supreme Leader: Self-Confidence, reliance on God main back-up of armed forces

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said here Wednesday that self-confidence and reliance on God Almighty are the most important back up of the Iranian Armed Forces.
“The most important back up for the armed forces are faith in their capability and reliance on God — instances of which were design and enforcement of complicated military tactics during the eight-year (1980-88) Sacred Defense. The Naval Force (of the Islamic Republic Army) continues to grow and develop in light of the same back up,” said the Supreme Leader in an address to commanders, deputies commander and a group of staff of the Islamic Republic Army’s Navy on the occasion of Navy Day.
The Supreme Leader added, “Today, you are capable of designing and manufacturing many of your daily military hardware. Thanks to the your valuable self-confidence we are no longer dependent on other countries.”
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed the need for constant assessment of the strategic position of the Naval Force.
Prior to the Supreme Leader’s speech, Commander of the Islamic Republic Army’s Naval Force Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari briefed Ayatollah Khamenei on the progress and combat readiness of his forces.
