Iran – Turkey Discuss Industrial Cooperation

Iranian Minister of Industries and Mines Ali Akbar Mehrabian here Monday held talks with the Turkish energy minister on the sidelines of the 12th annual conference of United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

Mehrabian told IRNA that he discussed ways to expand cooperation in mine sector and construction of power plants with the Turkish minister.

Mehrabian said that his discussion with the Turkish energy minister was in the context of economic cooperation within Group 8 developing nations.

The group D-8 includes Iran, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Egypt and Bangladesh.

The two ministers also held talks on cooperation on exploration, exploitation and production of steel.

The 12th UNIDO general conference opened in Vienna on Monday for four days.
