Iraqi Oil Delegation to Visit Iran

A00182129.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- A 30-member delegation of Iraq’s oil ministry officials and businessmen are slated to pay a visit to Iran to introduce the country’s investment opportunities in the oil sector.

According to the secretariat of Iran-Iraq economic cooperation committee, the delegation is scheduled to first get acquainted with Iran’s potentials in power plant and refinery construction as well as petrochemical industries, upstream and downstream industries, lines of transfer and construction tools and equipment in the different Iranian cities on the first leg of their tour.

The delegation is, then, scheduled to attend meetings with Iranian experts to discuss cooperation on the sidelines of a specialized fair in Tehran on the second leg of their visit.

Head of the delegation Mehdi Saleh Olwan said that the visit to Iran would provide an opportunity for the delegation, comprising officials from Iraq’s southern regions and Kurdistan, to get familiar with Iranian companies and their potentials, adding that the knowledge would be of much help to the Iraqi side when holding contracts with Iranian companies.

He further expressed the hope that during the weeklong trip, Iraqi officials could gain an improved knowledge of Iran’s oil, gas and petrochemical potentials and capabilities.
