Quake Hits Central Iran

A01129029.jpgTEHRAN (FNA) An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale jolted the region of Tabas in Iran’s central province of Yazd on Sunday.

According to the seismological base of Yazd affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quake was registered at 1:11:27 hours local time (21:41:27 GMT Saturday night).

The epicenter of the quake was located in an area measuring 57.4 degrees in longitude and 33.3 degrees in latitude.

No reports have yet been received on the possible number of casualties or damage to properties by the quakes.
