Quake Hits Southwestern Iran

A011753710.jpgTEHRAN (FNA)- An earthquake measuring 4 degrees on the Richter scale jolted the area in the vicinity of the city of Ardal in Iran’s southwestern province of Char-Mahal and Bakhtiari on Friday.

The Seismological center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 17:40 hours local time ( 1310 GMT).

The epicenter of the quake was located in an area 50.71 degrees in longitude and 32.08 degrees in latitude.

There are yet no reports on the number of possible casualties or damage to properties by the quake.

Elsewhere an earthquake measuring 3.9 degrees on the Richter scale jolted Kouhdasht city in the western province of Lorestan Friday morning.
