Germany arrests two men for allegedly giving state secrets to Kosovo, Macedonia

BERLIN, Germany — Police in Stuttgart on Thursday (March 19th) arrested two men who allegedly provided confidential governmental information to members of criminal groups and foreign intelligence services in Kosovo and Macedonia.

The first suspect, identified only as Robert K., was an officer in Germany’s diplomatic bureau in Kosovo. Prosecutors say that in 2007 and 2008, he provided state secrets to his translator, identified only as Murat A., a Macedonian national, who allegedly had ties to criminal groups. Investigations continue.
