Bulgarian EU Parliament Members Visit Macedonia over Military Graveyards Issue

Bulgarian European Parliament Members Evgeni Kirilov (PES) and Nikolay Mladenov (EPP) are on an official visit to Skopje, Macedonia, over the issue with Bulgarian military graveyards in the former Yugoslav republic on Friday.

The frontline where the Bulgarian Army fought during the Balkan Wars (1912-1913) and WWI is within the borders of present day Macedonia, and there are many gravewards with the bodies of Bulgarian soldiers in the country. Many of them however are in very bad condition, Focus News reports.

The two MP’s will meet with members of all parliamentary groups in the Macedonian Parliament in order to discuss the issue. Kirilov and Mladenov will also meet with Macedonian deputy PM Ivica Bocevski and the country’s Minister of Interior Antonio Miloshoski.
