UN mediator Nimetz visits Skopje

SKOPJE, Macedonia

The UN mediator in the name dispute between Macedonia and Greece, Matthew Nimetz, arrived on a two-day visit to Skopje on Monday (July 6th) and met with Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki. Joining them was Macedonia’s representative in the name talks, Zoran Jolevski.

On Tuesday, Nimetz meets with President Gjorge Ivanov and Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski before travelling on to Athens for talks with Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis and Greece’s representative in the talks, Adamantios Vassilakis. All sides agree it is time to boost efforts aimed at resolving the longstanding name dispute.
