Spaska Mitrova cannot be pardoned, Macedonian president says in letter

MACEDONIA

Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov has sent a letter to the mother of Spaska Mitrova, explaining to her that he cannot meet her request and pardon her daughter – Gevgelija resident, who has a Bulgarian passport, without referring the case to the authorities in charge.

In the letter, the Macedonian president advised Mitrova to ask pardon under the regular procedure – through the court and Idrizovo prison, where her daughter is servicing her sentence.

Spaska Mitrova, who believes she has become a victim because of her Bulgarian passport and her participation if the Accusation of Bulgarians in Macedonia “Radko”, is servicing a sentence because of restricting her husband’s contacts with their daughter.
