The Bosnian Interior Ministry and the country’s Prosecution office have no knowledge of an alleged plan to assassinate RS PM Milorad Dodik.

Dodik is heading the government of Bosnia’s Serb entity, and his life was reportedly threaded by the recently arrested criminal group led by Darko Elez.

The Elez gang, whose members were arrested in RS and Serbia on September 1, were preparing the assassination of the RS prime minister, Banja Luka daily Glas Srpske said on Monday, quoting sources they said were close to Serbian investigative organs.

Glas Srpske quoted the unnamed sources as saying that the motives behind the assassinations and the persons who ordered them were being established, including the planned assassination of the RS prime minister which was to have been carried out by the Elez gang.

RS Police Director Uroš Pena also said in a statement for Tanjug that he has no such information and consequently declined to comment.

RS Interior Minister Stanislav Čađa expressed the same position on the issue. According to the statement given to Tanjug by his spokesperson Mirna Soja, the RS Interior Ministry has no such information.
