A separate item on the agenda is the continuation of the multilateral cooperation between Georgia and the CIS following this country’s withdrawal from the organization.
The Meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council will take place in Chisinau on Thursday, October 8. Ministers from the 11 member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States are expected to come to the meeting.
The agenda of the meeting includes over 20 topical issues. The Council is to adopt decisions on the organization’s internal work, including new procedural rules and the regulations concerning the work of the CIS cooperation bodies in different areas of activity, strengthening of cooperation in regulating migration and combating drug distribution, in the area of education technology as well as the draft statement on book support.

The Council will also review the normative framework of the CIS.
Under the internal legislation, the delegation of Moldova, which will be headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leanca, will not participate in the examination of border-related issues and issues concerning the political-military cooperation.
The ministers will also adopt the agenda of the Meeting of the CIS Heads of States Council that will take place in Chisinau on October 9.
