If the government of the former Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev has been loyal ad honest then the European Union should immediately return the blocked money. This is what leader of Order, Law and Justice (OLJ) Yane Yanev said at a briefing in the Parliament.
Yane Yanev has commented on the statement of the President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso replying to an inquiry of the leader of the Group of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament Martin Schulz what the impressions from the business relations between EC President and former Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev are and whether his socialist government had political legitimacy before the European institutions as well as Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov’s statements that Bulgarian Socialist Party should be banned and its members and supporters should be treated as “villains.”
OLJ would issue an inquiry to Barroso, which would be tabled by one of the Members of European Parliament. The question is why Bulgaria has been imposed sanctions on and why the EC has published several critical reports for Bulgaria and Jose Manuel Barroso has made a statement the former government has been loyal. OLJ has taken sharp take exception to Jose Manuel Barroso’s intervention in Bulgaria’s home affairs.
“His statement has been unacceptable because he is taking a side,” Yanev said.
