Macedonia — Representatives of several NGOs from the region presented an initiative on Saturday (July 3rd) in Skopje to establish a regional commission for truth-seeking and truth-telling about the war crimes committed in former Yugoslavia. They said the commission should consist of representatives from the former Yugoslav republics, and should receive backing from the respective states. Lazar Stojanovic, head of the initiative in Serbia, told the participants that one of the tasks of the commission should be drafting of a register of victims of wars. The initiative is backed by about 700 NGOs, civil associations and relatives of war victims.
