Bulgaria and Romania to cooperate on EU funds absorption

Bulgaria is willing to share with Romania its experience in dealing with challenges, related to EU funds absorption, the press service of European affairs minister Tomislav Donchev said on November 9 2011.

Donchev was on a two-day visit to Bucharest where he met with Romanian government officials.

During the visit, Donchev’s Romanian counterpart Leonard Orban said that Bulgaria’s achieved results made Bucharest introduce a similar post in the Romanian government.

In turn, Donchev expressed his willingness to share his expertise and political experience in EU funds management. The ministers agreed on the establishment of a network for exchange of experience between experts from Bulgaria and Romania to facilitate the optimisation of procedures related to the absorption of European financing.
