Former French PM visits Algeria

French former prime minister and presidential envoy for the Algerian-French economic relations Jean-Pierre Raffarin arrived here on Wednesday on a two-day visit.

Raffarin said he will hold talks with the Algerian officials on a number of economic issues, noting that the two countries foster positively ”a spirit of cooperation.” Raffarin was welcomed by Algerian Minister for Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Amara Benyounes.

Raffarin said that joint projects of cooperation and investments will be considered during this working visit, while noting that it ”falls as part of a former cycle which has been launched since President Francois Hollande’s visit to Algiers, the exchanges that followed and the structures set up since then.” The French official is expected to meet a number of Algerian officials, including Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal.
