Greece supports Albania’s EU road

Albania merits the EU candidate country status and Greece will continue its support and diplomatic efforts with European partners for Albania to achieve this goal in June.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Greece Evangelos Venizelos made the remarks in his meeting with President of Albania Bujar Nishani in Tirana on Friday.

Venizelos is visiting Tirana under the Greek Presidency of the EU.

Nishani assured Venizelos of the determination of Albanian institutions and society to continue the reforms needed to meet EU integration standards.

He also expressed the commitment to Albania’s full cooperation with the Greek Presidency and all European institutions and partners to accelerate the process of accession to the EU.
