Foreign Minister Sameh Shokry said that Egypt is following up closely the developments in Libya and their impacts on the Egyptian national security as well as the Egyptian workers in Libya.
In an interview with the state television, Shokry said that his ministry is boosting the presence of consular staff on Tunisian-Libyan borders to help the stranded Egyptians return home.
He said that there is no evacuation for the Egyptians in Libya, adding that they have the ability of resorting to safe places and stay away from flashpoints.
He noted that Egypt attaches great importance to the Libyan file, because Libya is a brotherly country and any developments in the country would affect Egypt’s western borders.
