The Israeli negotiating team will depart for Egypt today for ceasefire talks and discussions on a prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas.
“The team will go to Cairo to listen and ask questions because the gap is significant,” said an unnamed Israeli official to Israel’s Channel 12.
The Palestinian Hamas movement announced on Monday evening that it has accepted the proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza drafted by Egypt and Qatar.
On the other hand, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the ceasefire proposal does not meet his key conditions, and the Israeli government unanimously adopted the decision to continue attacks on Rafah to exert additional pressure on Hamas to release Israeli captives.
In violation of the temporary judgment of the International Court of Justice, Israel continues its attack on the Gaza Strip, in which since October 7 last year, at least 34,789 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed, and 78,204 people have been injured, according to Anadolu Agency.
