Taleb Sami Abdallah

Terror organization: Hezbollah

Status: Commander of Nasser unit. The Nasser unit is responsible for the area between the border with Israel and the Litani River.

Role: He was an operative since the establishment of the organization. He joined Hezbollah in 1984. In 1992-1994 participated in the war in Bosnia. In 2005, he commanded a failed kidnapping attempt of IDF soldiers in the Ajja area on the Israeli-Lebanese border near the Sheba farm.

During the Second Lebanon War, he served as the commander of Hezbollah’s Bint Jbeil Brigade, and in this capacity commanded the battle of Bint Jbeil.

In the civil war in Syria in 2011, Abu Taleb participated in the war alongside the Assad regime. In January 2015, after the airstrike on the Israel-Syria border in which Jihad Mughniyeh was killed, Abu Taleb commanded an ambush for IDF forces in the Mount Dov sector when the terrorists opened anti-tank fire on an IDF patrol force and killed two soldiers.

Hezbollah defined Abu Taleb as the “Shahid and commander”, and he is the second out of four in the organization to receive this nickname. Besides him were Wisam Tawil, Muhammad Naama Nasser, and Wahbi.
