Iranian Auto-Manufacturer Plans to Boost Production

A04080632.jpgTEHRAN (FNA)- Iran-Khodro Auto Manufacturing Company, the Middle-East’s largest car manufacturer, said it plans to increase annual production capacity to 1,080,000 by 2011.

Iran-Khodro’s managing director Manouchehr Manteqi said Iran-Khodro industrial group managed to break its own production record for the fifteenth time by manufacturing 525,172 vehicles in 2007.

Iran-Khodro, the largest automobile producer in the Middle East, has manufactured 2,800,000 vehicles in the past six years.

Iran-Khodro produces Iran’s first national passenger car, Samand, which is exported to various countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe, including Russia, Vietnam, Turkey, Syria and Belarus.
