TEHRAN (FNA)- President of Burkina Faso Blaise Compaore Wednesday called for official recognition of Iran’s right to pursue peaceful nuclear energy.
Compaore, who is also President of the Security Council for September, was speaking at the annual session of the UN General Assembly.
Underlining the need for making use of wisdom and logic regarding Iran’s nuclear case, he stressed the importance of negotiations aimed at settlement of the remaining issues, IRNA reported.
He expressed his country’s support for peace process in the Middle East and establishment of a stable Palestine.
Compaore said that the General Assembly held its annual session while the international peace was faced with threats.
He said that Burkina Faso played a part in formation of the UN peacekeepers in Darfur in western Sudan, adding his country was concerned over situation in Somalia.
