TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Chairmen of Iranian and Afghan parliaments’ Judicial Commission Sunday explored avenues for developing the two countries’ judicial and legal cooperation.
Chairman of Afghan parliament’s judicial commission Seyed Hossein Alami Balkhi and his entourage met with the chairman and members of the Judicial and Legal commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly here on Sunday.
During the meeting, the two sides noted the religious, historical and cultural commonalities of the two neighboring nations, and stressed the need for the further consolidation of mutual ties to help to the establishment of peace and security in the region.
They also reiterated that Iran-Afghanistan judicial cooperation serves the interests of both nations.
The Iranian side expressed the hope that the visit to Iran by the Afghan parliamentary delegation would be an effective step in the implementation of the judicial and legal agreements signed by the two countries.
For his part, chairman of the Afghan parliament’s judicial commission called for the exchange of experiences in judicial and legislative areas as well as formation of legal research centers, and hoped that the two parliaments’ cooperation could pave the way for the further development of Iran-Afghanistan relations.
