Droutsas: Our vision for European Balkan includes FYROM

Greek Alternate Foreign Minister Dimitris Droutsas represented Greece as an advocate for the Western Balkans EU integration, and pointed out that solving name dispute is the main condition for Macedonia’s EU integration, Greek ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

He didn’t forget to reiterated Greece’s stance – a name with a geographical qualifier for use in relation to everyone, erga omnes.

Our vision for European Balkan includes Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. No one should doubt that fact. We are ready to give our full support to our northern neighbor in its EU aspirations as soon as we agree on a name solution, Droutsas said.

During his lecture at the French institute, Droutsas said that the recent developments between the two prime ministers were initiated by Greece. Droutsas pointed out that Athens expects Skopje’s authorities to respond in the same constructive manner.
