Macedonian PM to dissolve parliament on March 31

Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski has decided to dissolve the Macedonian parliament on March 31 and call early parliamentary elections. He made the decision after a ten-hour talk with biggest opposition party Social-Democratic Alliance of Macedonia (SDSM) leader Branko Crvenkovski. The early elections would be called within the next 60 days after parliament dismissal.

Gruevski said that parliament should amend the Election Law and update the electoral roll by March 30.

Crvenkovski, on the other hand, said that his party would not return to parliament because it thought that it would be outvoted but added that the meeting with the prime minister had been a positive thing.
