Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates described Iran as a large neighbor of his country and stated that the UAE is prepared to cooperate with Iran in all fields. According to the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Dubai, UAE, the Iranian ambassador to the UAE, Hamid Reza Asefi met with the deputy prime minister of the UAE, Sultan bin Zayid al-Nuhayyan and exchanged views with him on mutual relations and further expansion of ties.
Asefi stated that expansion of ties with the littoral states of the Persian Gulf constitutes Iran’s policy adding that the regional states can preserve security and stability in the region with the cooperation of one another.
He added that the statements made by the supreme leader of the Islamic Revolution constitute the definite policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and no one should be given the opportunity to engage in acts of adventurism.
Elaborating on the nuclear activities of the Islamic Republic, Iran’s ambassador to the UAE stated, “Iran cannot give up its rights and it has already cooperated most with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the western countries, however, the westerners’ approach has been selective, politically motivated and unacceptable.”
For his turn, Sultan bin Zayid al-Nuhayyan described Iran as the big neighbor of the UAE and stated, “We share similar concerns and commonalties with Iran and the UAE is prepared to cooperate with Iran in all fields.”
He termed cooperation between Iran and the UAE in tourism, economic and political grounds as significant adding that Iran’s policies are very strategic and illustrative of the latter’s confidence building in the region and that Iran is a country influential in establishing tranquility and stability in the region.
