Ukraine calls up reservists

Security Council of Ukraine on Sunday ordered the Defense Ministry to launch a full military mobilization in response to Russia sending more troops to the Crimea.

The new Ukrainian government decided to call military reservists amid fears of a Russian invasion extended Crimea.

Armed Forces of Ukraine is said to include a total of 130 000 troops and reserves of one million.

Ukraine put the army in full battle alert Saturday. The government has ordered heightened security measures at nuclear power plants and other strategic sites.
