TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stressed in Abadan on Tuesday that his country may not give up even an iota of its nuclear rights.
Addressing a large and fervent congregation of the local residents during his 24th provincial visit, Ahmadinejad reminded that big powers are pursuing the same policy in obstructing Iran’s access to nuclear energy that they followed during the 8 years of the Iraqi imposed war on Iran under the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
“They intend to prevent our independence in a bid to dominate us,” he said.
Elsewhere, he noted the Iraqi issue, and said, “They (Americans) imagine that they can loot the wealth and resources of Iraq through establishing permanent bases in that country and practicing their hegemony over the Iraqi people while they have harvested nothing but regret so far.”
“Even Saddam’s execution which delighted the regional nations, was a shame for them because they helped him ascend to power,” the Iranian president reminded, and further assured that the US is doomed to face misery in Iraq.
Back to the nuclear issue, he pointed to the pressures exerted by the big powers on Iran concerning the latter’s peaceful nuclear activities, and underlined that the counterparty will be definitely incapable of resisting the Iranian nation’s resolve.
Saying that nuclear fuel production is a national demand in Iran, he advised western countries to comply with the Iranian nation’s will, and stressed that the Iranian nation will not withdraw even from an inch of its nuclear rights.
