TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Falak-ol-Aflak Citadel in Lorestan province has been chosen as the theme of a joint stamp to be issued by Iran and Morocco.
Announcing this, Latif Rohani, head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization’s (ICHHTO) Culture and Communications Department, said the move will be undertaken in cooperation with Stamps Association in a bid to expand cultural cooperation between the two countries, the departments, CHN reported.
He added that Falak-ol-Aflak Citadel will appear on the stamp along with one of the historical Moroccan fortresses once an agreement is reached.
Rohani noted that the elegance of the historical citadel was the main criteria for its selection.
Falak-ol-Aflak Citadel belongs to the Sassanid era (226-651 AD) and is located on a 40-meter mountain slope in Lorestan’s capital Khorramabad.
